Heat tracing is a system used to maintain or raise the temperature of pipes and vessels in order to avoid fluids from freezing or increase their viscosity. Trace heating is performed via special heating cables running in physical contact along the length of the pipe. Pipe and vessels must then be covered with thermal insulation to retain heat losses.
